Reflective Artifacts

English 125

At the end of every paper submission, we were required to write a reflective piece to disclose the mental processes used in our paper.  Explaining what we were trying to say in our writing as well as reflecting on the effectiveness of how we said it helped us grow as writers and gain clarity with every draft.

This is a reflection I wrote for an English 125 paper called "Hybrid Hangover" which argued that hybrid vehicles may not be the best financially efficient option when buying a new, environmentally-friendly car.

Writing 200

In the Writing 200 Gateway course, we were asked to reflect on our final re-mediating project to disclose our motivations and final thoughts on the outcome.  I wrote my reflection about the video I made from a re-mediation of a satiric paper I wrote freshman year in English 125.

In a second reflection I wrote for Writing 200, I reflect and look back upon my reasons for choosing an old English 125 paper to re-purpose.  For the assignment, I chose to use the satire piece I wrote in 125 and re-purpose it as a personal letter that I am supposedly writing to my brother, Zack.  In it, I assume the role of "big brother" in an effort to give Zack some advice on what he can expect as an incoming college freshman as well as how he should handle such situations.  Brotherly love at its finest.
