Writing Outside of Coursework

This section consists of an assortment of four writing artifacts that I have produced outside of my academic coursework at U of M.

Internship Cover Letter

This cover letter (and similar editions) was used for my internship applications during the recruiting season of Fall 2011/Winter 2012.  â€‹After establishing the main points that I wanted to include, I used this cover letter as a template for other similar positions in the marketing/advertising industries.

DSSI Prezi

This Prezi is a presentation that my team and I gave at the conclusion of our internship at DSSI this past summer.  We were asked to outline, after having spent four months with the company, what we saw as their main responsibilities, strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities.  With our outsider perspective, we were to evaluate how we thought DSSI could improve with both short term and long term goals.

This is the cover letter that I wrote and submitted for my admission to law school.  In it I talk about my time in Mexico, my affiliation with a professional pre-law fraternity on campus, and how both experiences have helped mold me into the person I am today.

Law School Personal Statement

My resume is something that I have been tweaking, editing, and adding to ever since high school.  It outlines my education, extracurricular activities, and work experience in a one-page document that theoretically sums up my worth as a professional.  I have used it to apply for internships, summer jobs, and law school and consider it to be a "live document"--something that will never truly be finalized or perfect.
